Sally Prout Dip RBS (TTC), ARAD, AISTD (CDE)
Principal and Director
Sally trained at Bush Davies School of Education and Theatre Arts and later at The Royal Ballet School in London where she gained her Teachers Diploma following a three year course. Sally gained a special award upon her graduation from Dame Ninette de Valois, the founder of The Royal Ballet, for achieving the highest results during her final year.
She started her teaching career in 1984 at The Bristol School of Dancing where she was responsible for teaching pupils from two and a half years old up to students of nineteen. In 1985 Sally opened her own school and also taught at The Hereford Ballet School.
She also taught at The Corraine Collins Dance Studios in Cheltenham where she was responsible for teaching the Vocational Graded syllabi of The Royal Academy of Dance. Sally has also taught students at Monmouth Haberdashers School for Girls and Westonbirt School for Girls.
As Sally’s own School grew she made the decision to devote her full time to it and now, along with Louise and Sarah, is enjoying its continuing development. Sally is a life member of the Royal Academy of Dance.
Louise Watson Dip NBS, AISTD (CDE)
Partner and Director
Louise trained in her home town of Sunderland and then went on to further her training at The Northern Ballet School at the age of sixteen. During her three years there she both performed in and choreographed numerous shows which were performed in The Dancehouse Theatre, Manchester. Louise also choreographed a ballet which was performed to Walt Disney’s sound track “Fantasia“, played by the Halle Orchestra, Manchester.
Whilst at Northern Ballet School, she taught classes at their Associate School and gained her Teaching Diploma after completing their three year teacher training course. Upon graduating, Louise moved to Gloucestershire to teach alongside Sally and is now a partner and director at the school.
Sarah Spaven Dip RAD RTS, ISTD (DDI)
Assistant Principal
Sarah trained at The Urdang Academy in London and then continued her training at Stella Mann College where she completed a three year National Diploma in Professional Dance and Musical Theatre. Since completing her training Sarah has worked professionally as a Dancer and a singer in numerous productions and tours, and was a competitive Latin and Ballroom dancer, performing in the Tower Ballroom Blackpool at the ISTD Finals 2012.
Sarah completed the Professional Dancers teaching Diploma with the RAD in the summer of 2017 where she attained her Registered Teachers Status. She also holds a DDI qualification in Ballet and Tap with the ISTD. Following a professional career in the industry Sarah has now decided to commit to teaching full time with the Sally Prout School of Dancing. Sarah became Assistant Principal of the school in September 2019
All teachers at the school are DBS checked and first aid trained.
