School History
The school was founded in 1985 by Sally Prout. Originally classes were held at the Stonehouse Community Centre. However, over the years the school has expanded greatly and classes are now also held at Cam, Dursley and Minchinhampton.
School Information
Examinations of The Royal Academy of Dance (Ballet), and Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (Tap), are followed. Pupils are entered when they have reached the standard required and on the understanding that they attend an extra class per week during the term of the examination. Examinations are not compulsory. Classes are also held in modern/jazz dance.
When joining the school a registration form must be completed. Fees are due termly in advance and any fees not received by the end of the first week of term will be subject to a 10% surcharge.
A full half terms notice in writing is required if a pupil wishes to discontinue any classes at the school. Failure to give the correct notice will mean that fees will have to be paid.
All pupils will be expected to attend classes in the relevant uniform and hair must be groomed neatly and tied away from the face. Pupils from grade 2 ballet and above are expected to wear hair in a bun. Dancewear is available to be purchased from the school. Two orders are made per term from a wholesaler and prices are competitive. Dancewear can be purchased through our software system, Dance Studio Pro.
